From insurance providers
Healthcare data can be obtained from insurance providers, including government health insurance (Medicare, Medicaid, State Children’s Health Insurance Program, military health care, state-specific plans or the Indian Health Service) or private (non-government) health insurance. Data from insurance providers generally includes enrollment and claims data for most settings of care at the individual level. Examples include Medicare, Medicaid, and HealthCore databases.
Access to CMS Medicare, Medicaid, and Chronic condition Data Warehouse data about Medicare beneficiaries, Medicare claims, Medicare providers, clinical data, and Medicaid eligibility and claims is available to ICTS members, subject to privacy release approvals and the availability of computing resources.
HealthCore maintains and operates the HIRD, a longitudinal claims database from 14 WellPoint U.S. health plans (distributed throughout the southeast, Mid-Atlantic, Eastern, Central and Western regions). The HIRD has claims information from Anthem/BlueCross-BlueShield representing approximately 36.1 million lives available for research. For additional information, please contact CADR staff.
